Everything You Need to Know About Apigee Community
Answers to common questions about becoming an Expert, climbing the Leaderboard, earning verified credentials, and mentoring peers.
1. Apigee Expert Registry & Mentorship
Any registered developer with real-world Google Apigee experience can apply. Go to Manage Expert Profile, add your architectural specialty (e.g. Apigee Hybrid, OAuth/OIDC, API Security, Proxy Performance), showcase at least one architecture project/case study, and link your GCP or Apigee certifications. Our community review team verifies your credentials and activates your public directory listing.
Verified Experts get featured on the Public Expert Directory, receive a verified badge across the Community Forum, can offer paid 1-on-1 mentorship sessions with custom pricing, and gain priority access to enterprise API consulting leads.
Payments for mentorship sessions are securely collected and held in escrow when booked. Funds are released to the mentor's designated payout account after successful completion of the video session (Google Meet or Zoom).
2. Community Leaderboard & XP Points
The Global Leaderboard automatically ranks active community members by total Experience Points (XP). You gain XP by completing courses (+50 XP per lesson), passing certification mock exams (+200 XP), providing accepted answers on the Forum (+50 XP), and maintaining daily learning streaks (+10 XP/day).
In your Profile Settings, complete all 4 checklist items: upload a profile avatar, write a professional bio & headline, specify your technical skills, and link your LinkedIn or GitHub. Profiles with 100% completeness receive enhanced visibility on member search and recruiter directories.
3. Certifications & Digital Credentials
On your Certificates Page, click the "Add to LinkedIn Profile" button under any active certificate. This automatically pre-populates the certification name, organization ID, issue date, credential ID, and public verification link into your LinkedIn profile.
Every issued certificate generates a unique public verification URL and QR code. Anyone scanning the QR code or visiting your credential profile can verify the recipient name, issue date, exam criteria, and current validity status in real-time.
